Here is my Saturn Graze observing report for this very unique event.

See what I saw at the 2001 Table Mt. Star Party!

This is a sketch of the Comet Linear A2

The sketch was made at Chuck Dethloff's viewing site in the Coastal Range of Oregon on Friday July 13th around Midnight.

The sketch was made using a 12.5" f6 home built Dobsonian as viewed through a 35 mm Panoptic eyepiece (54 power magnification).

Please note:  The second tail noted north of the more prominent tail was less evident than shown in the sketch.  However two Chuck Dethloff and I independently came to the conclusion that we were catching glimpses of this second tail.  Reports of a "chunk" breaking off the nucleus verify that a second tail was evident.
